Designed for a repeat client, this residence is located on a west facing slope that overlooks Lake Washington and Seattle’s Seward Park.  The home was built as a split level in the 1970s, and remodeled again in the 80s and 90s. Our clients purchased the home in 2014. Our design streamlined the roof lines, redesigned the exterior envelope, and reworked the layout of both the main and lower floors.  Every room, with the exception of the garage and master bathroom, was gutted and remodeled to improve the flow through the space and to strengthen the connection to the outdoors.  The project also included the design of a raised backyard patio accessible from the lower level with a new steel and Ipe deck off the main level. A concrete and steel stair connects the two outdoor rooms.
