Rebuild

A compact, single-story pizzeria is reimagined as a luminous neighborhood anchor, where a restrained material palette and carefully calibrated transparency showcase both craft and community. Set on a corner site, the building presents a low, gabled profile clad in vertical wood siding and anchored by a continuous band of glazing. At dusk, the interior glows outward, transforming the façade into a lantern that reveals the activity within—prep, service, and casual dining—while a vertical red neon sign marks the entry with a clear urban gesture.

Inside, the space is organized as a series of legible zones defined less by partitions than by subtle shifts in furniture, lighting, and millwork. A polished concrete floor runs continuously throughout, reflecting daylight and reinforcing the sense of openness. The ceiling—painted white to unify structure, ductwork, and lighting—exposes mechanical systems in a deliberately composed arrangement, balancing utilitarian clarity with visual order.

The front-of-house is anchored by a baby blue service counter and open kitchen, where the pizza line is fully visible. This transparency reinforces the ethos of craft, allowing customers to engage visually with the making process. Integrated refrigeration, point-of-sale stations, and display surfaces are resolved as a continuous datum, minimizing visual clutter. Above, linear pendant fixtures provide even illumination, complementing daylight that enters from three sides.

A dedicated pickup area is articulated by a simple wall of open cubbies, scaled to standard pizza boxes and paired with minimal signage. The intervention is both graphic and functional, streamlining circulation while maintaining the project’s disciplined aesthetic.

Seating is distributed along the perimeter, with a mix of banquettes, two-top tables, and booths that recall a contemporary diner typology. Chrome-edged tabletops and upholstered benches introduce a subtle retro inflection, softened by the otherwise muted palette of whites, grays, and natural wood.
