Situated on a steep, relatively narrow, heavily wooded knoll on the east side of Mercer Island, this residence was designed for a young family of four. Due to the physical challenges of the lot, hefty up-front costs were required to get this project off the ground. These expenses had to be balanced with an economical design in order to keep the project on budget. Within these set parameters, we created a 3,000 square foot multi-level home with a double height space and an open floor plan. Expansive windows and sliding doors provide lots of natural light and connect the interior spaces to the outdoors.
