Nestled among the Mercer Island trees, construction has begun on this 70’s-era Ralph Anderson remodel. Beyond updating the house’s aging finishes and improving its energy efficiency with new windows and insulation, we worked with this family of four to better organize the key spaces of their home. On the main floor, an underused living room will be connected to new dining and kitchen spaces. Existing outdoor decks will flow directly from dining and kitchen areas through new sliding doors. Upstairs, the master bath has been reconfigured for daylighting and a new walk-in closet. Exterior work includes a new entry walkway and porch. A steel and wood canopy, new front door and large windows mark the home’s formerly hard to find entrance. Construction is expected to be complete in Spring 2020.
